The basic store logic often lacks separate text areas. Often, you need to display a category description at the bottom, add an explanation to an option, prepare an additional short description for the product page, or automatically populate the meta description from existing content. All these features are missing from the store's default settings, but they can be added using modules.

Managing long texts

If the text is important for SEO but isn't read and is hindering purchases, you can hide parts of it, display a "read more" button, and expand and collapse product and category blocks. In some cases, it's useful to disable descriptions for pagination pages or adapt their display to mobile devices.

Additional zones for SEO and banners

In OpenCart, product descriptions can be expanded with a separate field using the HTML editor, adding information about delivery, payment, benefits, or a promo banner. Similarly, categories receive SEO footer text, and manufacturer pages receive full descriptions and meta tags, which are missing from the basic version.
