Coupon modules in OpenCart allow you to create and manage promotions and discounts that encourage customers to make purchases. These modules offer features for setting up various types of coupons, such as percentage discounts, fixed amounts, or special offers on specific products and categories. Users can enter coupon codes during the simplified checkout process, making the process more interactive. Tracking coupon usage helps analyze promotional effectiveness and tailor marketing strategies.
You can create and assign coupons for specific products or categories in the "Marketing > Coupons" section. The "Coupons" page displays a list of all coupons created in the admin panel. To expand the standard functionality, we've prepared additional modules for managing discounts, coupons, promo codes, and promotions for your OpenCart store.

- Free Shipping: Selecting "yes" gives the buyer free shipping for using the discount code.
- Category: Selecting a category will apply the discount to all products in that category
- Products: You can select individual products by entering their name. To remove products from the list, click the red minus button in the product list below.
- Start Date: The first day the discount can be used.
- End Date: The last day to use the discount.
- Number of Uses: Limits how many times the item can be used by the purchaser.

For a customer to use the "-10.00" discount coupon, they must first add the product to their cart from the product page, and then enter the code in the shopping cart. They can enter the promo code in the "Use coupon code" field, and then click "Apply coupon".

When applied, the coupon discount is subtracted from the original amount. The new discounted total will be shown in the coupon (code) total in the order totals section.
The customer will see the discount again in the Confirm Order step in Place an Order:
