Deleting an OpenCart customer account

Without a separate deletion page, customers typically contact support and request manual account deletion. The module adds a clear deletion option to the personal account, allowing customers to confirm the action and log out of their account after deletion.

Self-deletion of the account by the customer

A "Delete Account" link appears in the account menu. It's only visible to authorized customers, preventing casual visitors from accessing the deletion page.

• The customer can delete their personal account without contacting the manager;
• Before deleting, you must enter the word DELETE;
• After confirmation, the account is closed and the session is cleared;
• The deletion page is not indexed by search engines.

What does deletion look like in your personal account?

• The link is added to the standard account block next to other profile sections.
• Deleting OpenCart clients by mistake with one click is not possible; manual confirmation is required.
• The delete button is highlighted in red; the action is not disguised as a regular save.
• If the word DELETE is entered incorrectly, the customer sees an error message.
• There is a button to return back to your account without deleting it.
• After successful deletion, the customer logs out and is taken to the standard logout page.

Recommendation: Before installation, review the text on the uninstall page and, if necessary, add your own terms, such as those regarding orders, bonuses, or support requests.

This module is useful for stores where customers request profile deletion after a one-time purchase or want to remove personal data from their account. In the theme settings, make sure the deletion option is in the correct account menu and not lost among the links.
