Telegram notifications OpenCart

Telegram notifications – the OpenCart module has been created and allows you to receive notifications about orders, registered customers, product reviews, product returns and messages from the contact form in Telegram. It is also possible to set up a notification about a change in the order status in the online store on OpenCart.

How to Create a Bot to Send Notifications in Telegram

To create a Telegram bot for sending notifications, you first need to use the @BotFather service bot.

• Find @BotFather in Telegram search and send him the /newbot command or click the START button.
• Choose a name for your bot (e.g. "My Store Orders"), then provide a unique URL that ends in bot (e.g. my_store_orders_bot).
• If the address is free, BotFather will send you a token - a special key for managing the bot. It should be saved in the module settings and not given to anyone.

Identifying the recipient of messages (Chat ID)

In order for the bot to send notifications, you need to know the recipient's Chat ID. This can be done in two ways:

• Via @getmyid_bot - find this bot in Telegram, send it the /start command, and it will return your Chat ID.
• Through the bot itself - if users write the /start command to your bot, their Chat ID will automatically appear in the bot logs (or via API).

If notifications are to be received by multiple users, each of them must complete the step of obtaining a Chat ID, and then these IDs must be specified in the module settings.
