Special Price For Product Options for OpenCart

The "Discount for Product Options" module helps you set promotional prices not for the entire product, but for specific options (for example, a specific color, size, or configuration). This is especially convenient when you only need a promotion for a portion of the product range within a single product page.

Why do you need a module?

Imagine a store where the same product is sold in different variations. You want, say, the "Red" variant to be cheaper during a sale, and the "Blue" variant to remain at the regular price. The module allows you to assign such special prices to options and additionally take into account customer groups and expiration dates.

Important: promotional logic is applied based on time (date_start / date_end) and priority, so you can flexibly manage your promotions without disrupting the product structure.

How does special pricing logic work?

The module stores promotion data in a separate table and displays the current price for the selected option in the storefront. If the promotion is active, the special price is used instead of the regular price. The selection order is determined: priority is taken into account first, followed by price.

In addition, the module adjusts the price display: the buyer is shown the “before” and “after” prices (the regular price can be displayed crossed out, and the new price highlighted).

For the "Basic Package" option, set a special price for the "Wholesale" group, and leave the regular price for retail. This way, the promo will only be visible to eligible customers.

Example 3: Several competing promotions.
If different special prices apply to a single option (for example, for different rules), use priority. The module will select the appropriate entry based on the specified order.
