Email Verification for OpenCart

The Email Verification module adds mandatory email confirmation to OpenCart after registration. Users receive an email with a link, confirm their email address, and only then can they fully use their account. This is a simple way to reduce the number of fake registrations and invalid contacts.

Why do you need a module?

• Cleaner customer base: fewer random and incorrect addresses.
• Bot protection: registration without confirmation becomes pointless.
• Increased deliverability: you work with real emails.

Main functions

• Automatic sending of an email with a confirmation token after registration (including Simple Register ).
• Two modes of behavior:
  • Deactivate your account before confirmation and activate it after following the link.
  • Redirect when entering the confirmation page if the email has not yet been confirmed.
• A separate “Email Verification” page with tips and “Home / Contact Support” buttons.
• Multilingual email templates (subject and HTML text) with convenient tab settings.
• Preview the letter directly in the admin panel.

Personalizing your email

The template supports short codes to make the email look more human-readable:

• {firstname}, {lastname}, {email}
• {store_name}, {verification_link}, {year}

Recommendation: Use the "Disable account until confirmation" mode if you have a lot of spam registrations. The "Redirect on login" mode is convenient when it's important not to block the user immediately, but still prompt the user to confirm.

Application examples

1. An online store with a bonus program—confirmation protects against bonus manipulation.
2. Wholesale account - access only after email validity verification.
3. Bot attack - only real contacts are activated.

The module installs a service table for tokens, is easily activated/deactivated through settings, and doesn't overload the registration process with unnecessary steps—the user simply confirms their email address via a link.
