H1 Meta Tag in OpenCart Products and Categories

The Meta H1 Tag for Products and Categories module helps manage the main page title using meta fields. If a category or product has a meta_h1 field, it is automatically substituted for the title, resulting in a properly formatted HTML H1 tag for SEO on the site.

Purpose of the module

The module complements the admin panel and page generation logic so that H1 can differ from the title (name) - and the text you specify in the meta field is used.

What does the module do?

• Adds a meta_h1 field to administrative forms for categories and products.
• Stores the meta_h1 value in the category/product description data.
• Replaces the title on the page: if meta_h1 is present, it is used, otherwise, name is used.
• Passes meta_h1 to controllers and output templates.
• Pulls a field from the database when generating results for a product/category.

Important: if meta_h1 is not filled in, the module will leave the title equal to the category/product name ( name ).
