Import module from YML file for OpenCart

The YML Import module for OpenCart is designed for quickly importing a YML feed into a catalog: you upload a file or specify a link, and the system creates and updates products.

What does the module do?

• Import products from YML by uploading a YML file or by URL.
• Synchronization by the Model field (product code / model).
• Creating and updating data: categories, manufacturers, attributes, images, prices, balances.
• Scheduled launch via cron (script import_yml_cron.php ).

What data can it update?

In the settings, check only those fields that need to be changed when updating existing products.

Product

• Title, description and meta tags
• Price, promotions (oldprice → special), discounts
• Quantity, availability status, availability date
• SKUs and codes: UPC/EAN/JAN/ISBN/MPN
• SEO URL
• Images (download via links from YML)
• Attributes ( parameters ), options, related products, downloads, filters

Categories / Manufacturers / Attributes

• Automatic creation of tree categories (parentId), generation of SEO URLs (translit).
• Automatic creation of manufacturers based on the vendor field.
• Automatic creation of attributes and binding to the “Characteristics” group.

Important: The "Delete All" option clears products, categories, manufacturers, attributes, and their groups (TRUNCATE tables) before importing. Use only when completely rebuilding the catalog.

Application examples

1. One-time price list upload: upload the YML file in the admin panel and click “Import”.
2. Regular update: save the feed URL and add a cron job to run import_yml_cron.php.
3. Partial update: Uncheck fields that cannot be overwritten (e.g. description or SEO).

After installation, the Import YML item appears in the admin menu (if you have access rights), and the import works both manually and in cron mode for automation.
