Module Random Products OpenCart

The "Random Products" module for OpenCart displays a block of products on your storefront that are randomly selected from your active catalog. It's a simple yet highly effective tool: visitors see new items every time, and you get additional attention for your inventory without the need for manual selection.

Purpose of the module

The main idea is to break up the storefront and help the buyer "catch their eye" on what they might not otherwise find through search or categories. The block is perfect for the homepage, sidebars, category cards, and any landing pages.

What the module can do

• Selects products from the database using the ORDER BY RAND() principle and displays them in a neat grid.
• Takes into account store restrictions: the product must be enabled, have an availability date no later than the current one, and belong to the current store (store_id).
• Works correctly with prices for different customer groups: it takes into account discounts, promotions, and price display settings for guests.
• Adds familiar buttons: add to cart, add to wishlist, add to comparison.

Settings in the admin panel

The module has a minimalist and clear setup—without unnecessary switches—so you can launch the unit in a minute.

1. Module name - how it will be labeled in the list of modules.
2. Limit - how many products to show in a block.
3. Image width and height —the module will automatically resize to the specified size.
4. Status - enable/disable display.

Important: The module displays only active products, available by date, and linked to the current store. If the block is empty, the problem is most often related to product statuses or store linking.
