OpenCart Product Options by Customer Group

In a standard product card, options and their values are visible to all customers simultaneously: retail, wholesale, dealers, and guests. This module allows you to link specific option values to distinct customer groups, ensuring that only relevant variants are displayed on the storefront.

Product options separate for retail, wholesale, and dealers

In the OpenCart admin panel, the product form now features a customer group selection for each individual option value. This setting is located in the exact same block as the price, quantity, weight, and option prefixes, so managers do not need to navigate to other sections of the dashboard.

• Select a dedicated customer group for each size, color, or product configuration.
• Allow guest visitors to see only the options assigned to the store's default customer group.
• Ensure authorized buyers see a tailored set of options corresponding strictly to their group.
• Prevent extra variants from cluttering the product card on the storefront.

What changes when managing a product card?

• A new column for the customer group appears in the option values table.
• Easily assign any existing option value to the desired customer group via a convenient drop-down list.
• Filtering applies directly on the product page. Buyers will not see irrelevant variants in select boxes, radio buttons, or any other option types.
• Differentiate packaging options effortlessly: for example, 1 unit for retail, a box of 20 units for wholesale, and a full pallet for dealers.
• Keep the price and markup of each option running smoothly under standard OpenCart logic.

Recommendation: Before starting bulk configuration, double-check the default customer group assigned to guest users. Otherwise, unregistered customers might miss the options intended for them.

A common scenario: the exact same product is sold to various clients with different packaging and bulk options. Simply create the option values in the product card, assign a specific customer group to each value, and save. The storefront will automatically display a personalized set of choices tailored to that specific customer.
