Video gallery from the OpenCart YouTube channel

The YouTube Video module adds a neat YouTube video block to your OpenCart storefront, allowing visitors to watch videos directly on the site without having to navigate to other tabs. This provides live content (reviews, instructions, unboxing videos, case studies), which builds trust and significantly improves engagement.

Purpose of the module

The main goal is to display a list of videos from a given source and enable playback in a modal window (pop-up player). The video block is perfect for the homepage, category cards, brand pages, and any informational sections of the store.

How it works on display

• A preview grid with the video title is displayed.
• Clicking this button opens a modal window with a YouTube player and autoplay video.
• When you select a channel, a button to subscribe to the channel (YouTube Subscribe) is additionally displayed.
• If the videos could not be retrieved, a clear message is displayed: “Unable to retrieve videos from YouTube!”

Main functions and capabilities

Video sources

1. By channel ID - displays the latest videos of the selected channel, sorted by date.
2. By keyword - a selection of videos based on the search query.

What can be configured in the admin panel?

• The name of the module (and optional display of the title on the showcase).
• Source Type: Channel ID or keyword.
• Source data: the Channel ID itself or a search phrase.
• Limit - how many videos to display in a block.
• YouTube API Key - access key to YouTube Data API v3.
• Status - enable/disable the module.
