Easy product search with autocomplete and highlighting in OpenCart

Easy Product Search is a module for OpenCart that transforms the standard search bar into a quick and intuitive tool: customers start typing, and the store instantly displays product suggestions. No unnecessary clicks—the desired item is found in a couple of seconds.

Purpose of the module

The module helps increase conversion and reduce the number of "empty" queries: it selects results more intelligently, highlights matches, and even helps when a user enters a query in the wrong layout.

What can easy product search do?

• Live AJAX product search directly in the site header with a drop-down list of results.
• Search by selected fields: name, description, tags, model, attributes, as well as identifiers SKU, UPC, EAN, JAN, ISBN, MPN.
• Highlighting found fragments in the name/model.
• Show cards in tooltips: image, price, promotional price, availability, "New" sticker.
• Add to cart button directly from the results.
• Link "Show all search results" (by setting).
• Request caching and cache clear button in the admin panel.

What data does it work with?

1. Products and their descriptions (name, description, tags).
2. Model and product codes (SKU/UPC/EAN/JAN/ISBN/MPN).
3. Attributes, prices, special prices, quantity (availability), date added (for "New").

Recommendation: For maximum accuracy, enable search by name and model, and for stores with a large selection, add search by SKU/EAN and enable cache.

Example application: In an auto parts store, a customer enters a part number (SKU/MPN) and an easy product search immediately shows an exact match with price and availability, allowing them to add the item to their cart in one click.
