Mass Edit OpenCart Products

The Edit Products module is a convenient tool for the OpenCart admin panel that adds a bulk action panel to your product list. It's designed for situations where you need to quickly organize your catalog: enable/disable items, organize products into categories, assign a manufacturer, or recalculate prices at once—without the tedious process of opening each product page.

Purpose of the module

Bulk product changes speed up routine operations in the Catalog → Products section. Select products using checkboxes (or apply the action to the entire catalog), specify the operation type, and click "Apply."

Main functions

• Enable products (make active).
• Disable products (make them inactive).
• Add category to selected products.
• Remove selected products from the category.
• Assign a manufacturer to the selected products.
• Remove manufacturer from selected products (reset to manufacturer_id = 0 ).
• Bulk change price (by percentage or fixed amount) with rounding options.
• Bulk change the promotional price (Special) using the same rules (percentage/value/rounding).

Working with prices

Clear modes are available for changing prices and promotions:

• Increase by % or decrease by %
• Add a fixed value or subtract a fixed value

Plus you can choose rounding:

• Do not round
• Round up / round down
• Round off mathematically
• Round mathematically to tens (useful for prices like 990, 1990, etc.)

Important: You can apply the action to either selected products or all products at once. If you select "All Products," the changes will affect the entire catalog—use this mode wisely.

Application examples

1. Seasonal price adjustment: Select "Change price → Increase by %", enter 7–10%, enable rounding to tens if needed, and apply to the selected items.

2. Sale: "Change promotion → Reduce by %", for example by 15%, to quickly update special prices.

3. Organize your structure: bulk add products to a new category or remove them from an old one after reorganizing your menu.

4. Working with brands: Assign a manufacturer to all supply items in one action, instead of manually editing each card.

Recommendations for safe use

• Before applying to all products, please make a backup copy of your database.
• Test price changes on a few selected products first, especially if you use rounding.
• If you plan to change prices based on promotions, check in advance which products actually have product_special set.
