Delivery depending on distance (by mileage) OpenCart

The "Distance-Based Delivery" module makes delivery costs logical and transparent the price is calculated based on the actual distance from your store to the customer's address, not just by eye. The calculation is performed using Google Maps Distance Matrix, so you get road kilometers, and the customer sees a clear delivery name with the distance indicated.

What the module can do

• Automatically determines the distance from the store to the delivery address (city + address).
• Supports 2 tariff sets “in the city” and “out of town”.
• Displays text like this in the order form: “… (Distance: 12.35 km)”.
• Works with geofences, tax class and shipping method sorting.
• Enables Google Maps JS (Places) on the checkout page (including SimpleCheckout).

What data does it use?

• Store address (reference point).
• Buyer's city and address from shipping_address.
• Google Map KEY_API.
• Lists of cities (comma separated) for the "by city" definition.
• Tariff grids in the format km:price (separated by commas).

Important: Tariffs are set as thresholds. The module takes the first value where "tariff km ≥ calculated km."

Example of setup and application

If you offer cheaper delivery within a city, add the city (or multiple language versions of the name) to the city list field, and then set two sets of rates:

1. Rates for the city: for example 1:150, 3:250, 5:350
2. Rates outside the city: for example 5:500, 10:900, 20:1600

Ideal for courier delivery, when the price depends on the distance of the area or when delivering to the suburbs.
