Cash on delivery with commission for OpenCart

The module adds the "Cash on Delivery" payment method to OpenCart and automatically adds an additional commission to the order total. This is convenient when the delivery service or payment intermediary deducts a percentage for cash on delivery—you immediately show the customer the fair final price without any surprises.

What does the module do?

• Enables the Cash on Delivery payment method on the checkout page.
• Shows the payment method only if the order amount is above the specified lower limit.
• Adds a separate line in the totals: "Cash on delivery fee".
• Charges commission as a fixed amount or as a percentage of the order amount.
• When confirming an order, sets the selected order status after payment.

What data and operations does it work with?

1. Checks the order amount ( Total ) and the minimum order amount.
2. Focuses on the payment method selected in the session ( payment_method = cod_order_fee ).
3. Calculates the commission:
   • Percentage of the order amount
   • Fixed amount in store currency
4. Adds the commission to the totals array and increases the total amount.

Benefits for the store owner: you offset cash-on-delivery costs, reduce disputes, and see transparent order calculations.

Benefits for the buyer: the commission is displayed as a separate line, and the total is clear even before confirmation.

Configuration recommendations and example

Set the Lower Limit (for example, from 300 UAH), select the commission type and value.

Example: with a total of 1000 and a commission of 2%, the module will add 20, and the total will be 1020. If you select a fixed amount of 50, exactly 50 will be added.
