Premium DB Indexes OpenCart

The sole purpose of this module is to improve the performance and efficiency of the OpenCart database (both user and admin areas). It will reduce page generation time by several factors depending on the server hardware and the amount of data (products/categories/orders) in the database.

Many OpenCart performance/optimization extensions focus on content caching techniques that only mask the real problems. Our extension actually optimizes the database, which reduces the database's memory and/or CPU requirements.

What are database indexes and why do I need them?

When you want to find information in a book, the fastest way is to look up a word or phrase in the table of contents at the end of the book. Once you find it, you know which page (or pages) the information you need is on. The alternative is to look through all the pages, which takes time. Database indexes are used in a similar way, providing information about where the information you are looking for is located.
