Prepayment for delivery for OpenCart

The "Delivery Prepayment" module for OpenCart adds a convenient checkout flow: customers can check the " Pay the rest after delivery " box, and the store will automatically calculate the prepayment amount and display it in the order summary. This is ideal for cash on delivery, high-value deliveries, and situations where you need to "record the customer's intent."

What does the module do?

• Adds a checkbox to the Payment Methods step (in both standard checkout and Simple Checkout ).
• Saves the buyer's choice in the session.
• If the checkbox is enabled, it adds the line “Prepayment” to the order summary block (Total).
• Can disable prepayment for certain product availability statuses ("out of stock", "below minimum", etc.).

Flexible inclusion conditions

1. Only for selected shipping methods.
2. Only for selected payment methods.
3. Order amount limits: from and to.
4. Warehouse Status Check - Prepayment will not be applied if the item is in a prohibited status.

How is prepayment calculated?

• Fixed amount (for example, 200 UAH)
• Custom formula - percentage of order components:
  • delivery (shipping)
  • coupon
  • subtotal
  • bonus points (reward)
  • total

Tip: If you use cash on delivery, set the formula to "100% of shipping"—this will ensure you cover shipping costs even if the customer cancels.
