The Google Analytics code is installed in the Site Control Panel in the module in the Analytics section. There are other ways to install code on a site, but we will not talk about them, since for an inexperienced OpenCart user they are extremely complex and require changes to the engine code. However, they are not a better solution.
The OpenCart control panel has a standard module for embedding Google Analytics code :
- In the control panel, go to the “Add-ons” block, then “Add-ons”.
- Select “Statistics” from the drop-down list. In some versions it may be called “Analytics”.
- Click on the “+” module activation button opposite “Google Analytics”.
- A line with the name of your store will appear below.
- Click "Edit" next to it.
- In the Google Analytics Code tracking code field, paste the code copied from your Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager account.
- Change the module status to “Enabled”.
- Save your changes.
- The Code has now been added to all pages of your site.
- Go to any page on your site in your browser.
- Press F5 (page refresh).
- Press Ctrl+U and the page code will open in a new browser tab.
- Press Ctrl+F (a search field will appear).
- In the search field, enter the text "google".
- You will see the highlighted Google Analytics counter code.
Below are screenshots of the Google Analytics installation process, demonstrating how to install the code.
